There are about 50 terrestrial species of this group of orchids mainly in tropical Asia but also in East Asia, East Africa and Oceania. No orchids of this genus are distributed naturally in Panama.
Hay más o menos 50 especies terrestres principalmente en Asia tropical también en el este de Asia, el este de Africa y Oceánia. Las orquídeas de este género no se distribuye en silvestre en Panamá.
Phaius tankervilleae
東南アジア、オーストラリア、ニューカレドニアや日本の種子島以南に分布する大型の地生ラン。パナマには人間が持ち込んだものと思われる。広く栽培されている。
This is big terrestrial orchid which grows naturally in South East Asia, Australia, New Caledonia and Japanese islands south of Tanegashima. In Panama it was introduced by humans and now cultivated commonly.
Esta es la especie terrestre más grande que crece en Sudeste asiático, Australia, Nueva Caledonia y las islas japonésas más del sur de Tanegashima. En Panamá se introdujieron por los humanos y hoy se clutivan communmente.
