Trichopilia属に近縁の着生蘭で、中米ではパナマ、コスタリカを中心にこの一種類だけが知られている。偽球茎は円筒形で細長い分厚い葉を持つ。
The epiphyte is closely related with Trichopilia. Only this species is distributed in Central America especially in Panama and Costa Rica. The bulb is cylindrical with a thick long leaf.
